Built on the commitment and passion of community people and their values, the independent living facilities are made possible through the financial support of the Federal Government and donations from the community. Heatherlie Homes is managed by an honorary skills based management committee and with voluntary support from the people of Warrnambool and district.

Heatherlie is non-denominational and applicants are admitted according to their physical, financial and social needs. Government regulations require applicants to be of pensionable age or permanently disabled. All of Heatherlie’s residents are able to remain in their units for as long as they wish, but need to be able to care for themselves.

Residents pay an ingoing contribution and ongoing service fees annually determined by the Heatherlie Council. The service fee covers building maintenance and insurance, power costs, council water and wastewater rates and the upkeep of the landscaped gardens. A professional coordinator is available to assist residents with any daily questions and advice.
